Privacy Policy
Courtlet keeps the padel score on your watch. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not send your matches to a Courtlet server.

This policy covers the Courtlet apps for Apple Watch, iPhone, Wear OS, Android phones, and Garmin watches, and the website at www.courtlet.app. It is written for a small consumer app. Where we actually receive personal data, UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to that processing.
Information on your device
To score a match and restore it after a restart, Courtlet stores information in the app’s private storage on that device. We do not receive a copy.
- The live match and finished matches: points, games, sets, events, timestamps, the result, and the settings used for that match.
- Preferences, such as deuce format, match length, warm-up, button scoring on Garmin, and whether the buttons say Us / Them or Serving / Receiving. Those labels are not a list of named players.
- On iPhone and Android, notes you type against a match. A note can include names if you write them. Notes stay on the phone. They are not sent to the watch and they are not sent to us.
- On iPhone and Android, a list of match identifiers you have deleted, so a later sync from the watch does not put that match back.
There is no Courtlet player profile, login, or email address inside the apps. You can use Courtlet without telling us who you are.
Health and fitness data
Starting a match tries to record the session as exercise, and on Apple Watch that also helps the score return when you raise your wrist. The health data is handled by the platform, not uploaded to Courtlet.
- Apple Watch. Courtlet starts a HealthKit workout and reads heart rate, active energy, and basal energy so Apple Health can store the workout. The activity type is tennis, because that is the type Apple Health provides. Those samples stay in Apple Health under Apple’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
- Garmin. Courtlet records a FIT activity and can write the score into it. Heart rate and calorie figures come from the Garmin activity. Where the watch supports it, the activity is padel; otherwise it is a tennis match named Padel. Courtlet does not ask for your location. When your watch syncs, Garmin Connect handles that file under Garmin’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
- Wear OS. Courtlet tries to start a Health Services exercise and can read calories and, if you allow body sensors, heart rate. The exercise type is tennis. That data stays with the watch’s health services under Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
If another app already owns the workout, Courtlet asks whether to continue without one or to cancel.
Sync between your watch and your phone
An Apple Watch can send the live match and match history to the paired iPhone with WatchConnectivity. A Wear OS watch can send the same kind of snapshot to the Android companion through Google Play services on your devices. Those transfers stay between your devices. Courtlet does not operate a cloud sync, a spectator page, or a shared match feed.
Garmin does not have a Courtlet phone companion. History remains on the watch, apart from whatever Garmin Connect does with an activity after the watch syncs.
Diagnostics on the watch
The Wear OS app can save the text of the last crash in a file on the watch, so it can be inspected later. That file is not sent to Courtlet. The Apple and Garmin apps do not include a Courtlet analytics or crash-reporting service.
What you send us
If you email us, we receive the address you write from, your message, and anything you attach. We use that only to reply and to handle support or privacy requests. Please do not send health exports unless you need them to explain a problem.
This website
www.courtlet.app is a static site. It does not set cookies, does not run analytics, and does not use advertising or tracking pixels. It has no account and no contact form. Fonts are stored with the site, so loading a page does not call a separate font service.
The site is delivered through Amazon CloudFront and hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS region us-east-1). Courtlet does not run its own website analytics, advertising, or access-log collection on this site. When you load a page, AWS necessarily processes technical information required to deliver and protect the service — such as your IP address, the URL requested, and your browser or device type — as part of operating CloudFront. That processing is performed by AWS under Amazon’s terms; see the AWS privacy notice linked below. It is not match data, and we do not use it to build a marketing profile.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not show ads in Courtlet or on this website.
- We do not take payment-card details. If a store charges for Courtlet, that payment is handled by Apple, Google, or Garmin.
- We do not run an analytics SDK in the apps.
- We do not use your information for automated decisions that produce legal effects.
Why information is used
On your devices, the apps use match, preference, note, and health information for the reasons above: scoring, restoring a match, history, notes, and an exercise session. Because that information is not sent to us, we do not use it for our own purposes.
When you email us, the lawful basis is legitimate interests in running and supporting Courtlet, and doing what you asked us to do. You can object to our keeping that correspondence.
Who else processes information
We do not pass match data to a Courtlet subcontractor, because we do not hold it. Other organisations process data because you use their platform:
- Apple, for the App Store, Apple Health, and watch-to-iPhone sync (Apple privacy policy (opens in a new tab)).
- Google, for Google Play, Wear OS health services, and watch-to-phone sync through Play services (Google privacy policy (opens in a new tab)).
- Garmin, for Connect IQ and Garmin Connect (Garmin privacy policy (opens in a new tab)).
- Amazon Web Services, for hosting and delivering this website through CloudFront (AWS privacy notice (opens in a new tab)).
- Your email provider and the provider that hosts our inbox, when you email us.
We may also disclose information we actually hold if the law requires it.
International transfers
Match and health data stay on your devices and with Apple, Google, or Garmin under their terms, which may involve processing outside the UK. When you visit this website, AWS may process technical request data needed to deliver pages through CloudFront, which can involve processing outside the UK under Amazon’s terms; see the AWS privacy notice linked above. That is separate from your match data. If you email us from outside the UK, your message is handled by the email providers involved.
How long information is kept
- On a device, until you delete the match, clear the app’s data, or remove Courtlet.
- Notes, until you delete the note or the match, or remove the phone app.
- A workout already saved in Apple Health, Wear OS, or Garmin Connect, until you delete it there. Removing a match in Courtlet does not remove that workout.
- Emails, for as long as we need them to deal with the request. You can ask us to delete them.
Security
Match data sits in the app’s private storage on your phone or watch. We rely on the lock and account security of those devices. We do not operate a Courtlet account to protect. No method of storage is perfect. Keep your devices locked, and avoid emailing health exports unless a support request needs them.
Deleting your data
Courtlet has no user account and no server-side profile, so there is no account to close and no Courtlet database entry to erase. You remove Courtlet data on the device that holds it.
iPhone
Open the Courtlet companion and delete a match from the list or from the match itself. That deletes the match and its note on the phone, and tells the watch not to restore it. To remove everything the apps store, delete Courtlet from the iPhone and the Apple Watch. Workouts already in Apple Health remain until you delete them in Health.
Android and Wear OS
Open the phone companion and delete a match from history or from the match. That deletes the note as well. To remove the apps’ stored matches, uninstall Courtlet from the phone and the watch. A local crash note on the watch is removed with the watch app. Exercise data already stored by the watch is separate.
Garmin
The on-watch history list does not delete matches one by one. Remove Courtlet from the watch to delete the matches stored by the app. An activity already saved in Garmin Connect stays in Garmin Connect until you delete it there.
If you have emailed us and want that message deleted, write to support@courtlet.app. There is no login on this page. Anyone can read these instructions.
Your rights
Where we process personal data, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, or restriction, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. For matches and health data on your devices, you do those things on the device, as described above. For an email you sent us, contact us and we will help.

Children
Courtlet is a sports scorekeeper for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not ask anyone to create an account or tell us their age. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If Courtlet later adds accounts or a server that receives personal data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
